We are happy to report that after the first boy who was a little stuck all arrived safe and healthy. Whelping was from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. So this was a fast morning litter which I'm thankful for. Anything beats having to do an all night whelping which is very common. They are all gaining weight, scooting around and when they want mom they let her know. Lexi is doing an amazing job as a mom and I love watching her with her babies.
Green boy was the first to open his eyes. This litter is looking great and I'm so excited to see them up and moving around soon!
Here are some photos from the first week to a lil over a week. The girls are PINK and ORANGE and the boys are WHITE, PURPLE, YELLOW, GREEN and BLUE.

So here we are going on week 3 already. They are getting around much better but not steady on their paws yet. They can hear us now so I've started to put on different channels for noise. Clapping, Cheering, booing and just talking in general. Tails are slowly starting to come up over the backs. I dewormed them today as well and everyone is doing fine. Purple boy was the first one to pull himself over the entrance to the whelping box with the help of the pig rail. So the pig rails have been removed :0) The next couple of weeks will be great as they get their paws more under themselves.
Also this past week Lex's first litter show pups attended this years National Specialty which is the Super Bowl of Samoyed Dog Shows. "Liza" Ej's Toast T' Rexann did well in Novice weight pull, took 1st in the 9-12 month sweeps and 2nd in the regular 9-12 mth class. She's an amazing girl both in working and showing and as you can see she looks a lot like momma Lexi.
Here are a couple of videos to watch. One is walking playing and the other is when they are hungry and want MOMMAAA!!! LOL
3 week old Chunk Puppies! They have started on some food more like a soupy baby food mix. They love it and these photos where after eating and some wearing the food. Puppy teeth are starting to come in and Lexi isn't with them as much. Thinks she's over the milk bar duty. This coming week will will be increasing their food and eventually start to wean the puppies from Lexi. They'll still spend a lot of time together just not as the only food source.
Full House
These photos are from 4 to 4 1/2 weeks. They have changed a lot since our last photos. Personalities are starting to come out. They had their first bath yesterday before taking photos and they have been outside. They love the outside but the rain and kept us from taking them out as mush as we'd like too. The Whelping box was removed yesterday and now they are being litter box trained as well as going outside if it's not pouring outside. They have chompers in and Lexi isn't having any part of feeding them. Puppy play date this Saturday along with a puppy photo shoot with a good friend of mine who's a photographer. Plenty of photos to go into the puppies folders when they depart for their new homes. Can't believe they are going to be 5 weeks already.
White boy
Escaping became the norm after awhile.
I'll take photos and video leading up to the weekend but will be posting the photos from the photo shoot as our next update. I forgot to take photos of their first bath but they'll have plenty more before they leave. They all did great for their first bath I was really impressed!
We had a great time with a puppy play date and then photos afterwards by Dolly Pierson! The puppies did well and we took some amazing shots. They have their litter box to potty in and they go outside multiple times a day. Crazy happy puppies that are just so much fun! Enjoy the 5 week old photos!

I know I'm late but here is the 6 week old photos. Playing in the backyard. They are enjoying the freedom when we take them outside. The leaves coming off the tree makes it hard to find puppy poop LOL.. They love running around the house and getting into EVERYTHING! They are a great bunch of puppies and are coming along nicely. Very excited to watch them and can't believe that in a short time they will journey on to their new homes. :-( Going through puppy questionnaires and seeing what each person is looking for.

Going to miss the feeding time. Food takes to long to get to them LOL
Love watching them play Sorry I recorded it the wrong way LOL
Well the time has come to say goodbye and I don't want to. I absolutely love and enjoy every single one of these puppies. They have brought so much fun, laughter and naughtiness into our house. We've enjoyed it so much but know that the amazing homes that made our final cut will carry on their journey in a happy loving home. We've had a lot of people that didn't cut it for our puppies. We give 100% into our puppies and our dogs and we expect the same from the new owners. Responsibility is a huge commitment for the next 15 or more years. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people become part of the Ej Samoyed family.
So here is a little of what's been going on here with our family and puppies.
This is the great vet clinic of Animal Hospital At The Crossing with Dr. Davis and his staff. They are amazing with my puppies and my dogs. I use them along with my local vet but prefer Dr. Davis he's just a long drive to get to but worth every bit of it! He checks the puppies out from head to paws and listens to their hearts etc. He's one of the best and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
The trip to see Dr. Davis and the Ophthalmologist.
These are the wonderful vet students that gave us a helping hand to bring all 7 puppies into the U of I and they helped get their eyes dilated and ready for the first eye exam. Which everyone passed with flying colors. They were all very good for the exam which can be scary to them. They found lots of things to chew on in the office and the students wanted to take them home.
Dr. Hamor himself and see why this could be scary to a puppy. They did well and went right back to playing. Dr. Hamor is the ophthalmologist that sees all of our dogs for eye clearances.
After all that excitement they had to get out and play for a little while. They are so funny and the personalities are really starting to take form and show.
This one is so funny as sometimes they do the seal look on the ramp and other times they slide down when it's frosted in the a.m.

Here they are eating off of the Hercule's plate LOL
